Caliber - White, Gold - 150mm, 50˚ Trucks
These would look nice and they’re the right size. I was hoping to use something with a bit more color though…
Seismic Tekton Abec-7 Bearings
These have built-in half spacers that keep the bearings perfectly straight and spaced. How clever.
Fun fax. Trying to find the best bearings i can get for under $20 for a client. I’m leaning towards reds right now, but it’d be nice if I could save him some money for the same quality. Any suggestions?
I’m in the process of making a Blooper Board from the Mario games. It’s my smallest yet at 18.25” by 7.5”, and it has a 7.75” wheelbase. It’s an insane ride with mini-trucks, but it’s fun.
I just finished the Secur-O-Skate, a remake of the 60’s Skee-Skate, with an added hole for a bike lock. It’s a bit different than my usual board, but I really like the thing, and it’s a lot of fun to ride once you get used to it. The original Skee-Skate was 19” x 4.5”, and this one is 5” x 20”, so I tried to stay as accurate as possible, with silver wheels to mimic the metal originals, and silver hardware to match the original.
In other news, I’m leaving for a week up to Pasadena to take a silk-screening class, amd I’m staying with my sister, so this should be fun.
Rodney Mullen 1984 Japan - Thanks Mary!
Mind = blown for the first three minutes and thirty-five seconds. Old school > New School.
My work so far on the Skee Skate, and what the originals look like. Mine has a teeny kick, and is 20” instead of 19. Also, I shifted the trucks forward, so the nose is shorter and the tail is longer. I’m making mine a bit different, but I’ll leave that a surprise.I’m gonna try to get the smallest trucks possible, and some silver wheels, or as a plan B, red Cadillacs.
In other news, I’m entering a longboard design contest, and will be taking a sil-screening class starting the 26th, how exciting.
